North 44 Looking for Pastry Assistant

North 44, Chef mark McEwan's flagship restaurant at Yonge and Eglinton is looking for a pastry assistant. The restaurant is open for dinners only 6 nights a week and is closed on Sundays. You must be self motiviated but also be able to work as a part of a team. The expectations for this position are high. The clientele and the restaurant expect perfection and you must be able to rise to the occassion. 

Qualifications:

3-5 years pastry experience in a restaurant kitchen

Prep/Catering Cooks needed at McEwan

The culinary team at McEwan Foods in the Shops at Don Mills is growing. We are currently looking for dedicated, production and catering cooks. Evening and possible overnight shifts available. Knowledge of HACCP and food safety certificate obtained are assests.  Related experience a definite asset but not a necessity. Start date will be early to mid July. This position reports directly to the Executive Chef and Sous Chef. This position is physically demanding and the ideal candidate will require certain skills and abilities such as being able to lift up to 40 lbs, able to work while standing for long periods, as well as strong organizational skills. Ability to work in high volume environment. Professional appearance is important.

Qualifications:

This position may be required to perform additional and/or different responsibilities from those set forth above. The candidate must be available to work various shifts including weekends and statutory holidays. It requires but is not limited to the following attributes. 

 

  • Ability to work under pressure and unassisted
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Return all food items to the proper storage areas.
  • Wrap, cover, label and date all items being put away.
  • Straighten up and organize all storage areas.
  • Clean up and wipe down food prep areas, reach-ins/walk-ins, and shelves.
    • Ensures all food products being prepared and leaving the kitchen are of the highest possible quality and meet all standards and specifications set by management and Executive Chef
    • Responsible for the preparation of food items i.e. sandwiches, salads, wraps and desserts.
    • Maintains a clean and sanitary workstations and environment, in compliance with all local and federal health codes.
    • You must be self-motivated as well as be able to lead and motivate your associates.

Bartender Needed at Fabbrica Restaurant

Do you have a passion for great cocktails? Are you creative? Do you like to work with exotic ingredients and home made blends or flavours?

The McEwan Group prides itself on it's bar program. From One, to Bymark to Fabbrica, the drinks are becoming more creative each season. We are looking for someone to work the bar at Fabbrica in the Shops at Don Mills (Don Mills and Lawrence). The restaurant is open seven days a week from 11:30am-Close. The bartender at Fabbrica also makes the hot and cold beverages for the entire restaurant and lounge. It can be a busy place at peak hours so we need someone calm and collected and able to multi-task.

We are currently looking for mature, experienced cooks for the kitchen at Fabbrica, Mark McEwan's most recent restaurant in the Shops at Don Mills.
